About Cathy Woods
Cathy Woods is an Equestrian Wellness Educator, the author of Yoga for Riders and Riding Through Change, a longtime horsewoman, yoga teacher, international retreat leader and presenter, and creator of Body, Mind, Equine®, an approach that brings together yoga, mindfulness, and horsemanship to support overall physical and mental fitness. For more than three decades, she has combined her passions for yoga, horses, wellness, and women’s empowerment to help equestrians live and ride with greater awareness, connection, and vitality.
Cathy began leading programs in 1991 and brings a practical, authentic approach to yoga and mindful horsemanship, making these practices accessible to equestrians of all ages, abilities, and experience levels. She is passionate about supporting equestrians in creating a more enriched, skillful, and fulfilling life—both in and out of the saddle.
Her first book, Yoga for Riders, was published by Horse & Rider Books and has been featured in Horse & Rider Magazine, Horse Illustrated, Equus, Cowgirl Magazine, and other equestrian publications. Her second book, Riding Through Change: Navigating the Seasons of an Equestrian Life, explores the transitions, challenges, and opportunities that come with a life with horses.
Cathy’s programs have been offered at distinguished yoga and wellness venues including Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health, Yogaville Ashram, and Mount Madonna Center. In the equestrian world, she has partnered with organizations and venues including Equitana, Liberty Festival, Equine Affaire, Warwick Schiller’s Journey On Summit, Tryon International Equestrian Center, White Stallion Ranch, and C Lazy U Ranch. She has also been featured in Forbes, Yoga Digest, Horse & Rider Magazine, and numerous other publications.
An avid equine enthusiast and longtime backcountry trail rider, Cathy loves exploring the natural world from the back of a horse. She finds great joy in helping people handcraft their lives and their horsemanship while sharing how authentic yoga, mindfulness, and wellness can enhance both.
