Adoptable Horse: Takoda, a 24-year-old 15.3hh Appaloosa gelding Organization: Humane Society of North Texas, Fort Worth, Texas
Meet Takoda! He is an extra special guy who is near and dear to the hearts of the Humane Society of North Texas staff and volunteers. They are so excited that he is up for adoption.
Takoda arrived at the HSNT ranch without his sight and a body condition score of 1. He immediately perked up and his spirits were lifted as we began to provide care and food for him. He started putting on weight and made friends with his pasture mates. He was an absolute champ for both of his eye removal surgeries and made an excellent recovery.
Takoda is now thriving. He is able to maneuver his pasture with his pal, Jack Black. Takoda stands wonderful for our vet and farrier. Despite his loss of sight, he is a very chill and charismatic guy. He would do best with a confident and experienced handler.
Takoda stands at 15.3 hands.
