Video: Dressage exercises for a horse that overbends

Shifting the shoulders at the trot to correct a horse that overbends at the neck
Ellen demonstrates how to get better control of your outside rein and stop pulling on the inside rein by turning the horse’s shoulders. She moves both hands as a unit in the direction of the turn, sits lightly on her inside seatbone and moves her horse’s shoulders with her own shoulders and hips. You can quickly look down to make sure the horse’s shoulders aren’t popping outside the circle’s arc. Try this exercise at the walk first before trotting.
