Equine Photography Tips from the Pros

Mastering the basics of good photography will help you create appealing sales photos, keepsake portraits of your friends and their horses, or beautiful works of art to decorate your home. Every year, we ask our Horse Illustrated photo contest judges to offer some of their tips for great equine photography.  Dusty Perin
Dusty Perin began her photography career as a wildlife photographer in 1989. In the mid-90s, she switched to horses and began her long association with HI as a regular freelance contributor. Perin lives on a small farm in southern Maine that she shares with her four Arabian horses. Her horses have served as equine models for over 20 years, gracing the pages of many books, magazines, calendars and puzzles.
