In recognition of Horse Illustrated’s 35th year honoring the horse, we want you to send in a photo that says “Celebrate the Horse,” the theme for our 2011 photo contest. It could be an image of a horse galloping in a field or showing his determination and athleticism in sport, or maybe a photo portraying the special bond horses have with humans or each other. If it celebrates any of the qualities that endear these beautiful animals to the people who love them, then send it in!

    Rules
The contest is open to amateur photographers only. One entry per person. Multiple entries will be discarded. Entries should be focused, high-resolution photos at 300 dpi (sized 3″x5″ or larger) taken in a hazard-free environment. Please include the following with your submission:

    • Your name, address, phone number and e-mail
    • Horse’s name, age, gender and breed (if known)
    • A brief photo caption or description

    How to Enter
This contest is now closed. Check back soon to see the results.

Photos accompanied by incomplete entries and those that do not meet the entry requirements will not be eligible. All entries become the property of Horse Illustrated and cannot be acknowledged or returned. The judge’s decisions are final, and the winners will be notified by phone or e-mail.

    1. Just because the prizes are little doesnt mean that the contest is not worth entering. With the upcoming summer, our horses will enjoy baths, and summer leads to rain, which leads to mud. I think you get my point. The prize is definetely worth entering. Now if only my horse didn’t crack my camera lens….

    2. Surprised it seems be all about the prizes. How about just the fun of it and maybe a chance to get one of your horses in the Mag? I did it, sound’s fun and didn’t cost me anything but 2 minutes of sending a photo. Lighten up and enjoy it for what it is.

    3. Maybe it’s just me, but I would be tickled to win these products! They aren’t the cheapest items on the shelf if you know what I mean! Keepin my fingers crossed!!!

    4. It seems to me from the description that you can be in the photo too with your horse.
“…portraying the special bond horses have with humans…”

    5. Hi, I am having trouble finding any info on 2012. Is there a Celebrate the Horse planned? Photo contest? I am coming from New Zealand and don’t want to miss it. Thanks, Tricia
