Andalusian and Lusitano Horses of Spain and Portugal

Catch a glimpse of the local village during the fair, as it bursts with horses, mostly stallions, that are paraded on the town square track all day long and into the night, and stabled in ancient stalls that are a fixture of the area’s whitewashed apartments and villas. Check out shows that run continuously in the square, as well as nearby on a jumping field and dressage court adjacent to Golega’s School of Horses (a modern building devoted to textbook classes in horse science). The fair also features food galore, distinctive Portuguese riding clothes for sale, as well as Lusitano saddles, bridles, and a spectrum of people who love these horses.
