Parelli explains how to grow confidence in your horse around grocery bags

Once your horse is confident with the plastic bag in your hand, tie it to the end of your carrot stick (or a riding crop). Start small by tying the bag in a little bundle. See if you can rub your horse all over without him getting worried. As he shows you that he’s not afraid, you can expand the size. Build slowly until you can rub him all over with the full bag. The next time he sees a grocery bag floating around, he should think nothing of it.
