I trail ride all the time and some of this stuff I didn’t know about so I’m glad this article was here for me to read. I suggest telling anyone who trail rides to read this first before they head out to hit the trails.

I have my name, cell number and horses name attached to my saddle. If she is found and someone can catch her, they will know who she belongs to. My son-in-law gave me a personal GPS. I set the coordinates when I leave the horse trailer and always find my way back.

I remember when I was with a friend and ewhat we thought was a trail turned into a dry stream bed. The horses were knee deep in mud and we were getting poked in the face with branches. Not a good situation!
