The smell is no problem. So I took a pump up pressure bottle,like you would use with a weed killer,used it a few times during his bathing,then mixed it half and half with the fly spray(just to be certain not to waste any if he did not like it) then full strength. The gentle spray sound is continues, not the squirt sound of a bottle,and the gentle wand movement is not threatening.WORKED like a charm.
