My horse was 28 when he had to be put down – He & I went out on the trail right up to that point, and until the day before he was put down – he was his usual self. He and I were so lucky in so many ways..

This article was very encouraging! My gelding has some advanced arthritis in his hips and I had essentially given up on even being able to lunge him. I noticed a change in his personality and could tell he needed some kind of job. With advice from my vet, we have started a pain management regiment and begun lunging. It has completely changed his disposition and removed anxiety from both of our lives!

I have an older horse that sounds just like your equine friend. Your advice is a huge help. I struggle with maintaining a steady weight with my horse too. I’ll defnantly check into a different feeding plan. Thanks for the advice.
