Saw him at the Sebring (I don’t remember the date) racetrack. He had a broken leg. Mario Andretti won in a Ferrari and McQueen was second in a Porsche 908. The King of Cool.

Saw him ride in a 4th of July parade with Robert Preston in Prescott, AZ in 1971, he did a bit of trick riding down the street in parade. They were filming Junior Bonner there. Great horseman.

Pretty compact article on the life of a great actor. He was such a charismatic and fun loving person. Just ask Yule Brennar, who he used to steal scenes from when making The Magnificent Seven! By the way, he didn’t carry a shotgun. It was a sawed off rifle!
