Ah! A Spa for Horse Show Fans

Imagine: You can pull off those ankle-crushing tall black boots, yank the hair net off your head and relax at a spa. What could be more inviting after a long day at a horse show? If you happen to be competing in Vermont this summer, there’s a show just for you. For the sixth consecutive year, the Equinox Resort & Spa has partnered with the Vermont Summer Festival Horse Show as a sponsor of the show’s Grand Prix.

The six-week Vermont Summer Festival will take place from July 11 through Aug. 18, 2007, at Harold Beebe Farm in East Dorset, just outside the Village of Manchester. The show is its own mini-circuit, considered New England’s largest AA-rated hunter and jumper competition. The Manchester-based Equinox Resort & Spa will be the presenting sponsor of the $30,000 Mt. Equinox Grand Prix, to be held Aug. 5. As part of the sponsorship, the Equinox Resort will once again be the site of one of the popular weekly exhibitor parties, hosted by the Vermont Summer Festival. So, a trip to the horse show gets you fancy show jumpers, yummy party food and a chance to spoil yourself at a world class spa. Tres wonderful!

“A significant portion of our client base calls the Equinox Resort & Spa home during our six week event – a clear indication of the importance of this partnership,” says Dotty Ammerman, executive director of the Vermont Summer Festival. “Their annual journey to Manchester is as much about the competition at the horse show as it is about feeling comfortable at the Equinox and enjoying the amenities at this beautiful resort.”

Courtney Lowe, Sales and Marketing Director of the Equinox Resort, notes, “We look forward to providing the horse show clientele with first-class, personal service and are prepared to customize their stay with a wide range of activities that include such unique programs as our Off-Road Driving School, fly fishing, and courses in falconry.”

Falconry? Now things are really sounding interesting. For more information on the Equinox Resort & Spa, visit www.equinox.rockresorts.com.
