BreyerFest Gallops into Kentucky

Breyer Animal Creations® has gone global with BreyerFest® Global Gallop, the 19th model horse collector festival and horse fair that’s underway July 18-20 at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Ky.

BreyerFest Global Gallop is celebrating the international world of the horse this year, inviting international breeds that have that certain “je ne sais quoi” and charisma. The event features three days of live horse demonstrations and meet & greet sessions with the real horses that inspired the Breyer models, as well as a 50-booth trade fair, a Craft & Activity Center hosted by the Explorium of Lexington, three model horse shows, workshops and seminars, pony rides, an exotic petting zoo and dog agility.

Activities are also being held at the Holiday Inn North, BreyerFest’s host hotel: the Artisans’ Gallery features top equine artisans and sculptors, and the annual swap meet is the hot spot for buying, selling and swapping model horses.

BreyerFest is the destination for special, highly collectible models and this year won’t disappoint, the company stated. Breyer has selected Avi Cohen and Kilimanjaro Ranch’s dapple gray PRE stallion Alborozo as the 2008 BreyerFest Celebration horse. German sculptor Brigitte Eberl (who sculpted Anky Van Grunsven’s Salinero for Breyer) was commissioned to create a new sculpture of Alborozo exclusively for BreyerFest Global Gallop. Her model will be available only with a three-day ticket purchase to BreyerFest. And, to make the Alborozo model uniquely and especially collectible, Breyer is breaking the mold at BreyerFest–something it has never done before in nearly 60 years of production. Once Alborozo leaves the Breyer stable door, he’s gone forever!
