Third Sound Horse Conference Planning Underway

Representatives from Friends of Sound Horses (FOSH), the Walking Horse Owners’ Association (WHOA), the National Walking Horse Association (NWHA), the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders & Exhibitors’ Association (TWHBEA) and Western International Walking Horse Association (WIWHA) met to discuss and develop the preliminary agenda and topics to be presented at the third Sound Horse Conference.  The purpose of the conference is to bring together a wide complement of experts, research and resources to address solutions to end the abuse of soring of gaited horses.

The 2010 Conference program will include Walking Horse breed history, gait biomechanics and physiology, and recognition and honoring of individuals and organizations that have made a change for the improved welfare of Tennessee Walking Horses.

Topics and speakers are continuing to be developed, and gaited horse owners and interested parties are encouraged to visit www.soundhorseconference.com to submit their ideas and view the proceedings and presentations from past conferences.

The conference is being held November 5 and 6, 2010 in Louisville, Kentucky.

The Sound Horse Conference is a gathering of concerned individuals and organizations working to end soring of gaited horses through education, information sharing and promotion of sound horses.
