The 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games will be the first WEG to offer para-dressage competition alongside the seven other equestrian sports. Para-equestrians do not receive the same level of financing and sponsorships as top riders from other disciplines, and this year’s aspiring WEG competitors are hoping to help offset the high cost of competing at WEG through grassroots fundraising
The first Para-Webathon aims to tell the stories of some of the top para-equestrians and help raise money for these deserving athletes. The webathon will be hosted by the Horse Radio Network and broadcast from Alltech’s studios in Kentucky. Join in from 7pm to 9pm Eastern Time to help the top U.S. para-equestrians compete at the world championships this year at the World Equestrian Games.
In addition to donations received from supporters, Kentucky Performance Products has pledged a matching donation for money raised from the webathon of up to $2,500. “We are thrilled to be part of this wonderful event and hope that everyone comes out to support our Para-Equestrians,” said Kentucky Performance Products President, Karen Isberg.
