Being fat is not good for the health of the horse, and neither is being too skinny. We need to have a healthy balance! And this was a great article

I know many horse owners who prefer a little extra weight to too little. My horse is just right but I would have to agree. I’d rather see him a couple of pounds overweight that under.

let me guess just in the united states!! i think fat horses are cute as long as there not poops!!! and it does not become a serious health issue!!

I think it’s sad and a bit funny. Sad because it’s bad for the horses health and funny because people are so used to seeing fat horses they freak out if they see a thinner horse.Most people I’ve seen commenting on breeds like the Akhal Teke have no idea the breed is supposed to look thin and start screaming abuse,then it turns into an argument with the owner/rider defending the horse.Ahh the drama.
