American Miniature Horse Association World Championship begins this week

Approximately 1500 Miniature Horses are expected to compete this week and next at the American Miniature Horse Association (AMHA) World Championship show in Fort Worth, Texas. This year marks the 15th that the show has been held at the Will Rogers Equestrian Center in Fort Worth.

The AMHA World Champion holds nearly 200 classes showcasing the various activities that Minis can do, from driving to halter to obstacle and jumping classes.

The show runs all day, every day from Sept. 23 through Oct. 1. Admission is free for spectators. For those unable to travel to Fort Worth, the show can also be viewed for free online at iEquine.com.

The AMHA World Championship is a separate event from the AMHR championship that was held earlier this September. AMHA restricts registration to horses measuring 34” and under while AMHR accepts horses between 34” and 38” as “Division B” horses. Horses meeting registration requirements for both organizations can be registered with both and compete in both championships shows.

I LOVE MY MINI. HE IS THE FIRST MINI IVE EVER HAD, AND HE'S SUCH A GOOD NATURED LITTLE GUY. HE KEEPS MY ARABIAN COMPANY WITHOUT BEING MUCH OF AN ADDED EXPENSE LIKE ANOTHER FULL SIZE HORSE WOULD BE. (WHICH IS THE MAIN REASON I GOT HIM) ONE THINGS FOR SURE, HE'S MUCH FATTER THAN THOSE IN THE PICTURE!
