We found out yesterday,after watching the CN international
jump=off where Eric and Hickstead had won their 2nd Spruce CN championship in 2011. I do not know either of them and yet, tears came to my eyes. My husband and I have watched horse jumping for several years now and we have always enjoyed hearing Eric ride and talk about Hickstead.How terrible we felt for them, like losing a friend. We want Eric to know we grieve with him and his family.

Such an amazing horse. I’m so sad to see him go. I’m sure that all who knew him are even sadder.

Hickstead, you will always be remembered as a great show jumper close to Miltons heels in the great Hall of Fame.
