Thanks for the info! Looking forward to it since I have never competed before I feel like this would be good practice that I could do at home with my instructor before I take the step to showing! ^_^

I live in Florida and ride mountain horses. There are no sponsored shows in this state…all of them are in and around Kentucky. I own a wonderful champagne Kentucky Mountain Saddle Horse and a beautiful trailer, but I cannot afford the time and cost of traveling 800-1000 miles to a show, motels, meals, stabling, etc. Also, this would be a great source of professional input on your horse and your riding skills, in preparation to start competing in “live” shows. Hoped to see Gaited Horse Competition added to the line up at HorseShow.com!!!!

I agree! There is nothing like it. And to that point, I want you to know and everyone to know that the online shows at HorseShow.com are not in any way intended to replace the wonderful experience of being at a live show. Instead, the intention is to provide a supplemental activity to being at a live show – that is something to do in addition to – not instead of. It’s kind of like how watching an on-demand movie at home is not the same as watching on the big screen at a cinema. Both are great experiences in their own right an intended to displace one another. And for those who can’t afford to go to live shows, the online shows at HorseShow.com provide a way to show and compete. We’re not all fortunate enough to be able to go to live shows, and this is a great way for horse showing to become more inclusive by breaking down some of the economic barriers facing many of us today. And for those of us who are fortunate enough to be able to afford to go to live shows, the online shows are a great way to learn, improve, and better prepare for the live shows.
Sincerely,
Jeff Sloan

Is this what the world is coming to???? Horse shows ONLINE! How horrible! Don’t you enjoy the feeling of pride when you unload your horse from the hores trailer and everybody ooo’s and ahhh’s? How about the pride of winning a blue ribbon with the crowd cheering you on? Or the smell of fresh air and horse poop all around you. For me I enjoy actually going and bringing my horse to a show then uploading a video online!

We can barely afford the upkeep of a horse and lessons alone. Yes, I think that everyone who competes loves the thrill of it, but not many of us can afford it, especially in the economy. I think this is a wonderful opportunity for those who have the talent, but not the money to consistently compete. I still want to compete in real shows, but Ill be lucky if I could do one or two a year, and even then I’ll have to save up to do it. This is a great way to still get feedback on how you and your horse are doing competition wise, without having to make a huge dent in your wallet.
