Riders4Helmets was founded in early 2010 after Olympic dressage rider Courtney King Dye was seriously injured in a riding accident. King Dye, who remained in a coma for a month following her accident, was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, and is still undergoing rehabilitation.

  • Most people don't think they need to wear one, but it will be that one time they wish they had one on. A friend of my parents was practicing roping one Sunday and his horse spooked and he fell off and hit his head. He was in a coma and eventually died. You just never know. I would love to have a helmet.

  • Thank you for doing this, nothing is more important than safety! Beside the safety it is also fun to win something, it makes you feel special:)

  • Having survived a traumatic head injury when I was 19, I believe helmets are very important for everyone's health and well-being. I never ride without one!

  • Horses are beautiful. Riding is awesome but an accident can change your life forever or worse. Safety is so important. Thank you, HorseChannel.com
