The Art of Horse Clipping


For some horse owners who keep a full riding schedule year-round, body clipping is a necessity in winter. No one wants their horse to overheat or for the horse’s coat to get soaked with sweat after every ride. But that doesn’t mean you can’t get creative with the clipping. Go ahead – have fun with horse clipping patterns!

England-based JMC Driving and Custom Clipping understands that horse clipping can – and probably should – be a work of art. The clipping company has created medieval themes in horses’ coats, as well as hearts, stars, shamrocks and even an Easter-themed chicken and egg. JMC has turned horse clipping into an art form. With all forms of art, however, come the critics. Some are even calling the designs a form of animal cruelty. JMC responded to the critics:
