Learn how to make the most of your farmland

Would you like to learn innovative, chore-efficient ways for mud management, least toxic pest control, managing odors, water conservation and on-farm recycling? Join the Homes for Horses Coalition for a free webinar on December 13 at 3:00 p.m. ET to hear creative ways to put native plants to work on your farm including, rain gardens, dust barriers, visual screens, summer shade and low-cost/low-care native landscaping.

We’ll discuss ways beneficial wildlife can work for us by providing natural pest control. Additionally, we’ll cover environmentally sensitive ways to manage odors, useful water conservation tips, and ways to manage creeks or wetlands on equine properties. Reduce chemical use at your facility while making it healthier for your horses, you and wildlife!

Our presenter, Alayne Blickle of Horses for Clean Water, helps horse owners manage their land in the best way possible for horse health and the environment. Horses for Clean Water offers workshops, farm tours and educational materials development on a wide range of horse/land management topics. Techniques for mud management, composting manure, pasture management, chemical use reduction and water conservation are all win-win for horse health, chore efficiency and environmental integrity.

“It’s an unfortunate reality that most equine rescues, as well as individual horse owners, have limited land that suffers from overuse. Combine that with weather related issues such as drought and you multiply your problems. Our hope is that this webinar will help equine caregivers make adjustments that benefit their horses, their land and their budgets.” said Cindy Gendron, Manager of The Homes for Horses Coalition.
