AQHA World Show Planned

The American Quarter Horse Association World Championship Show will be back in Oklahoma City, Nov. 2-17. This year brings many new opportunities and improvements that will benefit exhibitors, owners and spectators.

Aside from beginning a day earlier, some other enhancements and changes for this year’s show at State Fair Park include the new Super Barn that replaces Barns 1 and 2. The World Show Sale has a new facility and will be held during the middle weekend of the show (Nov. 10-11), instead of the last weekend. The first ranch sorting and performance halter world champions will be crowned this year.

“With the renovations at State Fair Park, the addition of new classes and other special activities, this year’s World Show promises to be exciting,” said AQHA Executive Vice President Bill Brewer. “We look forward to this year’s show and plan to continue making the event better every year.”

To improve the World Show experience, finals performances will feature choreographed music, live video, entry information, instant scoring and replays displayed on new super screens.

During the final four nights (Nov. 14-17), spectators can enjoy free, live commentary about the competition in the arena, courtesy of The American Quarter Horse Journal. Spectators can pick up a Q-Bug at the main entrance before the 7 p.m. performances and learn about the American Quarter Horses competing, their handlers, owners and the legacies of their pedigree.

Finally, in addition to exciting American Quarter Horse competition, horse enthusiasts can enjoy shopping. Vendors at the trade show always have new and alluring products to sell, plus there will be special giveaways from AQHA’s team of corporate partners offered within the trade show format.
