He was a great horse that fought for his life for a long time. When he’s on his back it seems like he’s broken and he’s given up. Barbaro never gave up. He was an amazing horse that fought till the end.

Personally, I think there should be more focus on injuries to race horses and how they’re treated, so I’m not upset by the concept behind this memorial. It’s the fact that it’s of Barbaro– a horse millions grew to love– that’s bothersome.
