Best Selling Author and Equestrian Offers Chance to be in Her Book

New York Times best selling author and successful Grand Prix dressage competitor Tami Hoag is offering a once in a lifetime opportunity: She is donating an opportunity to be a character in her next book. However, there’s a price to pay, but it’s for a very good cause.

Hoag is only offering the opportunity to become immortalized in print to the highest bidder at the upcoming United States Equestrian Team (USET) Foundation’s benefit auction, scheduled for June 28 during the 2008 USEF National Grand Prix Championship and U.S. Olympic Dressage Team Selection Trials in San Juan Capistrano, Calif. (For more on the benefit auction, visit www.uset.org/viewarticle.php?id=177.)

The winning bidder will receive more than just his or her name as a secondary character in the novel, Hoag says. “They can choose to be described as themselves, or take the opportunity to be more handsome than George Clooney, or sexier than Angelina Jolie.” Additionally, the winner will be recognized at the beginning of the book, with thanks for supporting the USET and the U.S. Olympic dressage team. The book is scheduled to be published in 2010, and the winner will receive five copies signed by Hoag.

Hoag has enjoyed numerous successes in her riding and in her writing. She has claimed many victories in the Grand Prix dressage arena. Hoag has also written 13 books that have landed on the New York Times Best Seller list.
