It???s Sort of a Zoo for Horses

We might be ho-hum about petting a draft horse or observing the differences in type and conformation between breeds of horses. But for many people, owning a horse is economically out of reach and their daily lives rarely bring them into contact with an equine of any breed. In an effort to remedy that—and create a profitable theme park—High Delta Exotics of Louisiana and the head of a major horse auction company have teamed with a site in Costa Rica. The goal is to purchase more than 100 horses that will reside at a domestic animal theme park (a “panaca”) in Costa Rica.  Various horse breeds including Friesians, Haflingers and Miniature Horses are being procured nationwide for this interesting project. Reportedly the panaca concept is becoming popular in Latin America and may soon spread to the United States.
