Volunteers Needed for World Equestrian Games

Glenda McElroy has been named the dressage competition manager for the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games (WEG). It will be held in Lexington, Ky., at the Kentucky Horse Park. The WEG serves as the World Championships for seven international equestrian sports, including reining, jumping, eventing, combined driving, endurance, vaulting and dressage as well as the para-equestrian events.

“This is a wonderful honor,” McElroy says.  “I am very excited to be involved with this event.”

Similar to the Olympics, the WEG offers the public the unprecedented opportunity to see the very best horses and riders in the world in nearly all equestrian disciplines.

McElroy will work in conjunction with a huge team of thousands of staffers and volunteers to make the two-week world championships an event to remember. In fact, she encourages all horse lovers—regardless of what riding discipline you favor—to get involved. With such a major event, there are a lot of volunteer opportunities. Contact Cornerstone Dressage at www.cornerstonedressage.com for more information on volunteering at WEG.
