I find the last part interesting due to the fact that western pleasure attire had changed so much over the years. Now spandex and “bling” are now the required attire. Not a traditional western style . I personally hate how they dress now.

I grew up competing in horse shows and rodeos. So my friends daughter listened to me when her mom told me her daughter did not want to wear a helmet while riding English for they did not in rodeos or most western riders she saw.
I told the daughter people came to rodeos to see a dangerous sport. Some people like the idea of watching it done dangerously like a high wire act without a net. She should listen to her mom and use the net.

The second to last paragraph is exactly the reason it is so hard to change “traditional” attire to what we now know is a very important piece of safety equipment when riding our horses! I’m hoping this judge would not ride in a car without seat belts just because the seats look nice without them!
