Earlier this week, social media was abuzz with reports that Budweiser would not be using the Clydesdales in their holiday and Super Bowl advertising. Turns out the whole thing was a big misunderstanding, and the lovely drafties will be appearing in the company’s TV spots. Perhaps to prove it, Budweiser released one of its horse-powered holiday spot on YouTube this week.
If you’re as gullible/optimistic as I apparently am, you might wonder if there is an app that calls the Budweiser hitch to pick you up from your favorite watering hole. There is not. But the beer company is teaming up with the transportation service Lyft to give fans one free ride during the holiday season. Alas, you will be picked up by a pink-mustachioed car, which isn’t quite as exciting as getting a ride home with the Clydesdales. (But it’s still better than drinking and driving. Be safe out there, kids.)
