Video of the Week: Karen O’Connor doesn’t give up

This week, it’s only fitting that we honor Karen O’Connor as she competes at her fifth Olympic games. How do you get as good as Karen? Hard work, courage, natural talent, and most of all, never give up.

This footage from some 20 years ago at the Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event shows how O’Connor (then Karen Lende) personifies the “never give up” part of that formula. A fall on cross-country would have been an elimination, but an almost-fall means she can still complete. Watch as she demonstrates the kind of perseverance that has made her one of the world’s best.

Good luck in London, Karen!
