Riders are typically taught to always mount and dismount from the left side, but on the trail you may encounter situations where it’s easier or safer to mount or dismount on the off side. Horse Illustrated contributor Jennifer Nice explains some reasons why you would mount on the right side.

    All my horses are taught to dismount and remount from both sides. Of course now at my she, it’s with a mounting block!

    Yep, every horse and rider should be able to do this.
