Any tips on improving their attitudes towards each other?

When I’m tacking him up he swings his hindquarters around when he doesn’t wasnt his hooves picked and stands next to his hay when I go to catch him, giving me this “huh… You again?” face.

The horse I’m currently riding is definitely a dog-horse. She is very people-oriented, likes to untie herself from the hitching-rail, and LOVES getting scratched (and using you as a scratching post–whoops, that’s a cat term, isn’t it?).
The funny thing is, I have a fav cat that is DEFINITELY catty–but I love his guts. And our other cat is actually DOG-y. Likes playing with fav toy, performing tricks (on is own accord), loves attention.
Things aren’t always as they seem, I guess.

I would have never thought about it, but it is so true. My two horses are dog-horses, but I know some cat-horses. Maybe its just my personality, but I like dog-horses much better.

ONE OTHER WAY THAT WALLY IS A CAT-HORSE IS THAT HE’S OFTEN ALOOF AND IN HIS OWN WORLD. BUT IF SOMETHING UNUSUAL GET HIS ATTENTION, HE GETS ALL PUFFED UP AND ALERT, JUST LIKE A CAT. IF HE WERE A CAT, HE’D ARCH HIS BACK AND GO, “PFFFF-TAH!” AND MAKE THAT CAT-LIKE SPITTING SOUND…. BEFORE HE SPRINGS INTO ACTION AND NEARLY DUMPS ME.

They watch the goings on outside their pasture like we were a t.v. show put here for their entertainment. The mule especially craves human attention.

She pulls the water heater out of the water tank, pulls the electrical cord out of the socket, jumps the fence to get into the garden, climbs over the round bale holder to get into the middle and climbs into the water tank. Every day its an adventure with her!
