I THINK WE CAN ALL AGREE THAT ANY MOM WHO PUTS UP WITH THE CHALLENGES, FINANCIAL COSTS AND OCCASIONAL SILLINESS THAT COMES WITH A KID WHO’S HORSE CRAZY IS EXTRA SPECIAL.

everything I know about horses I owe to my mother. she convinced my non horsey dad to move to the country so we could have horses. she was just as horse crazy as I am. after my dad broke both our hearts and left, it was just us and our horses. they taught us both to heal and continue to love. she was my best friend. although she passed away in 2001 not a day goes by that I don’t think of her, and every time I mount up I hear her voice coaching me to keep my heels down or head up or hands steady. now I have two children of my own and pray I can pass on our love of horses to them, because to be lover by a horse is like being loved by our mothers. the love us no matter what and teach us the most important life lessons.

Thanks, Cindy. A lot of moms need these tributes, as they’ve droven hours for us just to compete in a showground, which I’ve lost many times. Happy Mother’s Day!

Thank you Cindy for the lovely tribute to horsey moms. Though my mother has been deceased for over 10 years, she shared many pearls of wisdom that I now truly appreciate to older I become.
