Horse: First Shot, a 5-year-old bay 16.1-hand Thoroughbred gelding in Commerce Township, Mich. Organization: CANTER MichiganPhoto Courtesy of CANTER Michigan
First Shot must have been a dog in his previous life. He is a handsome 16.1-hand bay gelding who adores his neck scratches and will even wiggle his lips for you! First Shot is on the lookout for a home outdoors, as he prefers to eat and live out in the open as opposed to a stall. Equipped with a super sweet and friendly disposition, he is quiet under the saddle and makes for a smooth and comfortable ride. But being young and curious about the world, he can become a little distracted and let his attention wander. Despite this, he still remains on his best behavior and will not pull any tricks. First Shot will make a wonderful partner for a loving rider! While he does have an old bow in the front, his trainer says he appears to seem sound and fine on it. Not to mention, he is 2021 Retired Racehorse Project-eligible! If you’re looking for an affectionate equine companion, look no further than First Shot!
