Adoptable Horse: Margo, a 11-year-old 15hh American Quarter Horse mare
Organization: Longmeadow Rescue Ranch in Union, MO

This week’s Adoptable Horse, Margo, arrived at Longmeadow Rescue Ranch with horribly neglected hooves. After a vet examination and radiographs, she underwent treatment and was fit with special shoes to assist in the recovery process. As of Spring 2022, this gorgeous girl is several months into her rehab and appears to be much more comfortable!

Marvelous Margo

Under saddle, Margo appears to be out of practice and tends to enjoy a good crow hoping spree. Experts at Longmeadow agree that she will make a solid mount with more miles under her belt (or cinch, if you will). Margo will require an advanced rider and likely 30–60 days of professional training at this time. She should not require shoes long term, but until her hoof has fully grown out, she will need to remain shod on the front end.
