Welcome to Horse Illustrated’s weekly installment of the My Right Horse Adoptable Horse of the Week, offered in partnership with The Right Horse. Sugar is this week’s adoptable horse. Check back weekly for a new featured horse so you can find your #righthorse.
Organization: This Old Horse, Inc.
Meet Sugar, a mare who was aptly named! This 24-year-old dark bay Quarter Horse is a quiet, well-mannered girl. She stands for the farrier (she has the most perfect feet!), leads well, and absolutely loves grooming. Sugar is broke to ride, though she has not been ridden in many years. She has a shoulder injury— the cause of which is unknown—that occasionally bothers her. Her current owners, who sadly must part with her due to their own health concerns, feel she could carry small kids on lead with no problem. She is bonded with her daughter, Ruby, a 17-year-old 15.2-hand chestnut Quarter Horse mare, and must embark on the next chapter with her. Will you be a part of her next adventure?!
