Horse: Suri, an 11-year-old 15.2-hand red roan American Quarter Horse mare
Adoption Organization: Longmeadow Rescue Ranch—Missouri

Suri is a level-headed Quarter horse mare who is a great all-around horse. She has a great disposition and great manners on the ground and under saddle. She is currently being ridden at all three gaits in the arena and has been taken on rides around the ranch. She picks up both leads with ease and has a dependable stop and reverse. In the past, she was used as a playdate horse—attending local shows. Suri gets a little worried when saddling and in the very beginning of her ride. After being evaluated by our chiropractor, we believe it is due to poor saddle fit in the past. She is perfectly fit and healthy, and we believe this to be resolved through added attention to saddle fit and through patience as she learns that not every saddle will cause her pain during a ride. Because of this, she will require either an advanced rider or a solid intermediate rider who is willing to work with a trainer. Either way, her rider needs to be willing to pay attention to saddle fit. We’re excited about the potential this mare shows and know her willing nature will help her adopter with whatever direction they want to take her.
