National Day of the Horse Celebrates 15 Years on December 13, 2019

On November 18, 2004, United States Senate Resolution 452 Recognized December 13 as National Day of the Horse and encourages the people of the United States to be mindful of the contribution of horses to the economy, history and character of the United States.



We extend our appreciation to all those whose who support and celebrate National Day of the Horse, including the Sponsors and Co-Sponsors of Senate Resolution 452, including: Ben Nighthorse Campbell, Day of the Horse Sponsor; Governor Michael DeWine, Day of the Horse Co-Sponsor; The Honorable Orrin G. Hatch, Co-Sponsor & Chairman Judiciary; Jack Kingston, Day of the Horse Sponsor; and Mary Landrieu, Day of the Horse Co-Sponsor.

Celebrating National Day of the Horse



There are many ways to celebrate National Day of the Horse on December 13 and everyday—from advocating for horses with national organizations and being mindful of the character and contribution that horses have made to the U. S. for more than 500 years to donating to a horse rescue or to a horse sanctuary or posting photos on social media using the hashtags #NationalDayoftheHorse and #DayoftheHorse. You can also read a good horse book or watching a classic horse movie, or write notes to U.S. Senators and U.S. Representatives thanking them for their support of horses.
