Loved that you have a saddleseat backround, or at least the reference I caught in the reading got me excited. Good luck with your November challenge. I challenge my riders, as young as 3, as old as 70. To give up stirrups and/or saddles for all lessons and rides. I rarely ride with stirrups, choosing a baretek dressage saddle as my “go to saddle.” Would highly suggest it to anyone that’s ready to give up stirrups long term. We would love to share photos of the youngest this year, he’s four riding walk/trot without stirrups in his lessons on percherons, appys, and a quarter horse. Or share all the other riders who took up the challenge proudly and stuck with it all month (and one week into December). I will reward them this year with a certificate that reminds them that they “survived no stirrup November.” I am wishing you the best of luck and we would love to cheer you on!

What a great idea!

Happy,Happy,Happy Thanksgiving,y’all! and good hunting to those that do!

It made me chuckle as I’m not a “seasoned” horsemen, but apparently more relaxed than some. From now until spring most riding will be jumping on bareback, and most of my trail rides in the summer I end up just dropping my stirrups for a while. No tired legs, just balance and relax.
