2007 Adequan/USEF Open Reining National Championship Set for Tomorrow

The United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) will crown a new reining champion on June 30 at the 2007 Adequan/USEF Open Reining National Championship. The event draws top reiners from around the country and is hosted by the Clayton Woosley Hall of Fame Reining at the Kentucky Horse Park.

Matt Mills, riding Easy Otie Whiz, won last year’s championship. The pair went on to be a member of the gold medal winning reining team that represented the U.S. at the 2006 FEI World Equestrian Games in Aachen, Germany. Mills will return this year to defend his national championship title.

Along with the Open Reining National Championship, the youth will be vying for their own championship title at the USEF Youth Reining National Championship presented by Hagyard Equine Medical Institute in three age divisions; 13 & Under, 14-18 and 19-21. The Youth Reining Championship will be take place at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Clayton Woosley Hall of Fame Reining at the Kentucky Horse Park.

For more information, contact USEF’s director of reining programs Courtney Barnett at (859) 225-6919 or via email at cbarnett@usef.org.
